Get some of the fresh sausages from your Country Grocer, whether they be turkey, beef, pork or chicken, roast them off and then get yourself a nice bun from the bakery and your half way to a great sandwich.
Directions
- Using either your toaster oven or a regular oven, preheat to 425º F. Place the sausage, peppers and onions on a tray. Bake until the sausage is cooked all the way through.
- Remove from the oven and once the sausage is cool enough to handle, slice in half lengthways.
- Place 3 halves of sausage onto the bottom half of each bun, top with the roast veggies, ¼ cup of sauce on each, half of the cheese for each and then place into the oven or toaster oven set on broil until the cheese is a nice golden brown.
- Add mayo to the top half of the bun and fresh tomato and lettuce if desired, serve and enjoy this tasty bunwich!
Variations
- Other veggies are also suitable to be roasted with the sausage like, fennel, zucchini and eggplant.
- Goat cheese and feta are alternative cheeses as well.
