Country Grocer is excited to welcome a passionate and dedicated professional to join our team as a Part-Time Recruiter!

In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with our HR Team and store management teams, providing full-cycle recruitment support for our 6 stores and warehouse.

We’re looking for someone who is confident, proactive, professional, detail-oriented, and truly people-focused.

This opportunity is perfect for a student currently pursuing their HR degree or a recent graduate eager to kickstart their HR career with a supportive and welcoming company.

The position is part-time (20-24 hours per week) and primarily based out of our Cedar administrative office. Occasional travel to our island locations will be required.

This role requires flexibility and adaptability as duties can fluctuate from day to day and is vital to supporting the overall success of Country Grocer’s Human Resources team!

As Recruiter, your job encompasses some of the following:

  • Responsible for full-cycle recruitment; create and post job postings both internally and externally, screen candidates, schedule and participate in interviews
  • Work with the management team to assess their recruitment needs
  • Implement recruitment strategies to source and recruit for a variety of positions; participate in career fairs to maximize the pool of candidates
  • Manage all job postings both externally and on Country Grocer’s company website
  • Manage administrative aspect of recruitment; file management, photocopying, scanning, and other duties as required
  • Provide updates on progress and recruitment strategies with senior management
  • Participate in the onboarding of new hires; facilitate orientation
  • Communicate and build a strong rapport with the Human Resources team and management team
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned

Experience and Education:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management preferred, student or graduate
  • Experience with full-cycle recruitment an asset
  • CPHR designation or working towards designation would be considered an asset
  • Familiar with the following (or similar) software: Outlook, Slack, Microsoft suite, Indeed Hiring Platform
  • Must have own vehicle and be willing to travel; mileage will be covered
